Mango
Mango is the town of Fenoglio’s memory, which during the partisan struggle was one of the garrisons of the Resistance.
The town is dominated by the imposing castle, built in the second half of the 1200s.
Mango was an important place because, under the walls and the towers of the castle, passed the “Magistra Langarum” road, which led from Alba to the Riviera.
A connection which left a trace in the local gastronomy: from the vineyards of the Langa came grapes and wines, from the Riviera came fish, salt and oil.
Inside the Castle of Mango there are still secret walkways which were once used to escape from sieges, and for some years it has been home to the regional winery and a restaurant.

Hills and vineyards alternating with castles and historical villages: this is the landscape that visitors of the Langhe can see.
You can see the steep profiles of the Rocche del Roero, part of the Unesco World Heritage, the hills of the Langa of Barolo and Barbaresco and their vineyards, up to the sceneries of Alta Langa, where the lush green of the woods dominates. Those who wish can stop by and visit some wineries, some of which are also beautiful and design, and taste the local nectar.
It is impossible to think about Langhe without associating them to gastronomy. The territory is a succession of vineyards: wines are among the typical local products and the names of the places smell of wine, Barolo, Barbaresco, Roero.
